Skylight Music Theatre looking for "Toto"

MILWAUKEE-Everybody loves their pets, but could you dog be a star of the stage?

Several local pet owners certainly hope so!

Skylight Theatre was looking for 2 well trained, small breed dogs, preferably Terriers or Terrier mixes.

But past experience on commercials or stage wasn't necessary.

\"Not necessarily a stunt dog,\" Artistic Director Viswa Subbaraman explained. \"We're looking for a dog that can empathize with the audience.\"

One of the \"Toto\" hopefuls already had a claim to fame as the pet of Milwaukee Alderman Bob Bauman.

During the brief time the CBS 58 camera was there, all the dogs did a wonderful job.

Many looked lovingly into the lead actor's eyes as she sang that beloved anthem \"Over the Rainbow.\"

Rehearsals for \"The Wizard of Oz\" begin October 28 and performances run November 21 – January 4 in the Cabot Theater at the Broadway Theatre Center (158 N. Broadway, Milwaukee WI).
