Milwaukee County Zoo’s Wild Lights returns with expanded route
MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Very early Thursday morning, January 10, a Manitowoc Sheriff's Deputy saw a 2013 minivan speeding south on County Highway LS near County Highway X in Centerville.
The deputy tried to pull the van over but it continued speeding. The minivan later failed to negotiate a curve, went into a ditch, flipped and hit a tree.
A 17-year-old male passenger from Sheboygan in the minivan was ejected from the backseat and pronounced dead.
The 15-year-old girl driver from Sheboygan and a 14-year-old girl riding in the car were trapped and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The two were wearing seatbelts.
Officials believe the car was stolen and speed was estimated over 80 mph. Police believe with speed and driving inexperience contributed to the crash.
