MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The weekend violence downtown has some worried about what this means for future big events coming to the city.
Milwaukee is one of two finalists to potentially host the 2024 RNC.
Visit Milwaukee says the committee has been in contact with the RNC. They say while they are saddened to hear of this weekend's events, the RNC is confident in the city leaders who are working hard to address crime in Milwaukee.
"Certain host members had conversations with the delegates and they said that this is not going to deter their determination on whether they come here or not," said Omar Shaikh, co-owner of Carnevor restaurant.
Nashville is the other finalist in the running.
Shaikh says we should be hearing the final decision very soon.
