Racine Police called to Party on the Pavement for man starting fights

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man has been arrested and is facing charges after allegedly causing fights during Racine's Party on the Pavement event.

Mark Scott, a 37-year-old Milwaukee man, is facing charges of misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police took a report of a fight outside of Thrifty Treasures on 6th street and a report of a man with a gun in the area of Monument Square.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers made contact with the suspect, later identified as Scott, at Monument Square. No weapons were found on Scott.

Officers also made contact with the victim who said that he was allegedly assaulted by Scott. 

The victim told police that he was at Dewey's Sports Bar with friends and left the bar to get away from Scott who was allegedly trying to start a fight with him.

The victim then went to the thrift store and walked inside with his friends. That's when Scott allegedly followed them inside, continuing to argue with them. According to the criminal complaint, the argument escalated and Scott ended up punching the victim. The victim's friends were also injured by Scott during the fight.

Scott has several prior convictions which include disorderly conduct, battery, and assault.
