RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine couple will star on the Wheel of Fortune Monday.

Kari and Eric McGaughey will be competing together against two other couples as part of the show's 'Disney Sea and Shore week' Monday.

It started when Eric auditioned for the show at CBS 58’s Wheelmobile event in October. Eric was called up on stage to compete in a mock ‘Wheel of Fortune’ game. The two were called for a second audition when they finally made the cut.

“We actually got a call saying, can you be in LA in 13 days?” Eric said.

The couple said the whole experience was thrilling. The show was taped in November.

“I don't think it was nerves as much as 'hey this is really fast',” Eric said. “We had to figure out how to work together in a very short period of time while also paying attention to several different things at once.”

Kari said asking Host Pat Sajak for those vowels together with her husband made it an even better experience.

“It was a little different than single contestants, so Eric and I got to do teamwork,” Kari said.

If Hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White ever wanted to hang out in the Badger State, they’ve got a place to stay.

“I wish Pat and Vanna would come down, we could give them a beer and cheese curds and have a good time,” Eric said.

The McGaughey’s are planning to watch themselves on the Wheel of Fortune Monday night with family and friends.

“Our experiences are in our head, but it will be different to see ourselves on screen,” Kari said.

You can watch them on CBS 58 at 6:30 p.m.  Monday night.
