Racine County Sheriff's Office looking for man who stole donation jar, led deputies on high speed chase

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County deputies are looking for a man they say led them on a high-speed chase after stealing a donation jar from a gas station.

Investigators say the jar was taken from a Kwik Trip near State Highway 20 and East Frontage Road around 8:40 Monday morning. Eventually, a high-speed chase started on I-41 before making its way on a state highway in Oak Creek.

The Racine County Sheriff's Office says due to the driver's reckless behavior, they made the decision to stop the chase.

The Sheriff's Office says they believe the driver is a 56-year-old man from Milwaukee and they are referring charges of felony eluding, reckless endangering safety, and a number of traffic charges to the Racine County District Attorney's Office.
