Racine car dealership's license suspended by the state

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The car dealer license of a Racine-area dealership was suspended by the state of Wisconsin for 30 calendar days. In an effort to keep its motor vehicle dealer license, Right Way Motors located at 6940 Washington Avenue in Racine, agreed to follow better business practices.

The suspension is a result of the dealership failing to process title applications within seven days of a vehicle sale, failing to pay off vehicle liens within 14 days, as well as failing to apply for an amended dealer license after changing locations.

The suspension was effective October 1 and lasts until October 30.

The suspension is the result of an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Dealer and Agent Section.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and educates the motor vehicle industry, and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering involving dealerships and private sellers.
