Police respond to possible drug related armed robbery

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police investigate a possible drug-related armed robbery that took place on the 3600 block of 26th St. at 7:15 a.m.

MPD officers were called to the neighborhood after getting reports of men with guns. Officers were directed to a home someone saw armed men entering. When officers approached the home several men ran out of the home's back entrance.

When the men fled the home, a pit bull also ran out of the house. Milwaukee police officers shot the dog as it charged at them. After shooting the pit bull officers ran into the alley where they found a 23-year-old man hiding in bushes.

Police say this was a likely drug related armed robbery. MPD's investigation into this incident is active as they continue to seek other suspects.
