MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The UW-Milwaukee Police Department was informed that MPD is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened Monday morning just three blocks south of campus near 1930 E. Newberry Blvd. Two men demanded belongings from a victim but did not get anything. One suspect had a gun. The suspects were described as 17 to 21-years-old and wore dark hooded sweatshirts.
A second armed robbery occurred on Monday in the evening at 2626 N. Maryland Avenue just five blocks south of campus. Two men demanded and took property from a suspect. One of the men was armed with a handgun. Both men wore dark colored clothing.
A third armed robbery happened on October 23 in the evening around 7:45 p.m. one block west of campus near 2008 E. Newport Avenue. A man demanded property from two women by grabbing one of the woman from behind. The suspect was described as 25 to 30-years-old wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
Police believe all or some of the incidents may be related and are investigating.
