Plan a day with the kids! Big Truck Day returns to Milwaukee's Red Arrow Park May 18

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's "Big Truck Day" returns for a third year in Red Arrow Park. The 2024 event is set for Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. 

The free event lets kids and families explore dozens of big rigs from the Milwaukee Department of Public Works, fire department and police department. 

Kids will also have the chance to meet some of the people who operate the trucks! 

Attendees can look forward to arts, crafts, face painting, bubbles, a book sale, and more. New this year, kids will be able to meet and take photos with "Hero Pup." 

Giveaways at the event include construction hats, sunglasses, and mini foam construction cones. 

There will be a sensory-friendly hour offered from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at which time no horns or sirens will take place. 

Big Truck Day is hosted by Milwaukee Downtown BID #21 in partnership with the City of Milwaukee.
