Patriots sign former Packer Flynn

The New England Patriots are turning to a former Packer to help out at quarterback during Tom Brady's absence.

Matt Flynn signed with the Patriots Thursday after a tryout with the team. Flynn had a couple of stints as a backup quarterback in Green Bay, and stepped in for Rodgers in 2010 to nearly beat the Patriots in Foxboro in Flynn's first NFL start. Flynn also spent significant time under center during Rodgers' 2013 collarbone injury.

Brady will miss the first four games of the 2015 regular season for his role in the Patriots' deflating of footballs.
