MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local churches and religious organizations took a stand against violence in Milwaukee's neighborhoods.
Representatives from across the city gathered Monday, July 28 for Operation Safe Space at Victory Over Violence Park.
The news conference covered multiple issues relating to recent violence and called on churches to continue being the first line of defense against this ongoing problem.
"We have the answers for what is going to work to make Milwaukee a safer city for all of our residents and for all of the people here it is time for us to come out of our four walls and to be recognized and to be on the front line like we already are," said Pastor James Ferguson.
The event featured leaders from many different religious backgrounds all focused on bringing the community together to make Milwaukee a safer place.
