MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One person was taken to the hospital following a tactical situation in Milwaukee's Harambee neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.
Milwaukee Police were called to a home near Palmer and Locust around 1:30 p.m. to check for a wanted subject.
The subject refused to exit the home.
"They were up on the porch with their guns drawn. They told the man to come out with his hands up and he locked the door and ran back in whoever it was," said Sharon Allen, a neighbor.
The Tactical Enforcement Team was called to the scene and police were able to take the person into custody around 4:45 p.m. After the arrest, investigators collected evidence inside the home. Kenosha Police were also on scene working with MPD.
According to the Kenosha Police, the subject from this incident was a "person of interest" in the homicide of 36-year-old Jason Killips over the weekend in Kenosha.
The Milwaukee Fire Department confirms that one person was taken to the hospital in this incident. There is currently no word on their condition or who was taken.
Police blocked off many streets surrounding the home in question, and a corner store was closed for hours while the situation unfolded. They were able to open back up for customers after the standoff ended.
The incident remains under investigation.
