New Wisconsin Law: Bartenders to Receive Citations for Underage Drinkers

Bartenders in the state of Wisconsin will now receive a citation for serving an underage person if the sale occurs during a sting operation.

Governor Walker signed Assembly Bill 864 into law on Wednesday.

It requires that a bartender only receives a citation for serving an underage person, if the sale occurs pursuant to a “sting operation” and the bar owner is not on the premises at the time of the sale.
