Milwaukee man arrested after police chase, crash in Fond du Lac County
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man is in custody after a police pursuit and crash in Fond du Lac County Saturday morning, May 9.
Law enforcement performed a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver had a felony warrant out for him through Kenosha County, only for the vehicle to flee causing a chase.
They lost sight of the vehicle and saw it again traveling along the I-41 exit at S. Military Rd, it then stopped, reversed, turned around and started traveling north onto S. Military Rd.
The chase traveled through business parking lots and to another exit ramp near Winnebago St. The car lost control and went off the roadway into the ditch, up the embankment and came to a stop in a field.
The driver fled on foot and officers eventually took him into custody.
The driver was a 44-year-old from Milwaukee out on a $5,000 signature bond through Kenosha County for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail.
He's being held on charges of fleeing and eluding, first degree reckless endangering safety, felony bail jumping and resisting an officer.
Along with the charges are felon in possession of a firearm and marijuana.
