The Milwaukee Bucks and Johnson Controls invite media to the grand opening of a multi-sport complex on the campus of Browning Elementary School and Silver Spring Neighborhood Center in Milwaukee's Westlawn neighborhood.
The $150,000 project was announced in late May and construction has been ongoing in the months since the announcement, with Thursday being the first chance the students at Browning Elementary School have to play in the new space.
The complex includes six basketball courts, one futsal court, a soccer field and additional recreation space, all contained within a 200-meter track.
The courts have been configured to allow flexibility for use of other sports, such as volleyball and tennis, and will be well lit to provide a safe space for recreation during evening hours, as well.
NBA All Star and Former Bucks player Sidney Moncrief was on hand for the official unveiling.
"I don't think i've every seen a facility so comprehensive," Moncrief told CBS 58 News. "Hopefully not only the school, but the entire community can take advantage of this amazing facility."
