MCSO arrests hit-and-run driver after pursuit

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A hit-and-run driver is in custody after a pursuit near I-94 eastbound on Thursday, Dec. 5. 

Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office squads attempted to pull over a vehicle around 8:19 p.m. after identifying it as being involved in a hit-and-run at Brookfield and Barker Road. 

The driver fled from deputies at a high rate of speed for nearly 6.3 miles, before the pursuit ended near 36th and W. Scott Street. 

Officials say the driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The pursuing deputy followed the driver and found him attempting to enter a home near 37th and Scott. The suspect refused to comply with orders and was tased and taken into custody.

Authorities say the suspect was driving a vehicle reported as stolen by MPD and his license was suspended. He had two open warrants with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office and one open warrant with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
