MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man was tased by police after investigators say he was involved in an eight-person fight at Walmart in Mount Pleasant.
According to Mount Pleasant Police, officers were called to the fight late Thursday night at the Walmart on S. Oakes Road. When they arrived, an 18-year-old man was pointed out to them by witnesses.
Police say the man got into an argument when he was walking past a group of people and started to make racist comments. The man allegedly tried to punch a female in the group before another male in the group beat him up. When officers arrived, police say the suspect took off his shoes and tried to run away from the scene. An officer told him to stop and when he didn't, he was tased.
The man was treated by South Shore Rescue before being taken to the Racine County Jail. Police have referred charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was also held on a probation hold.
Police say other suspects involved in the fight reportedly left the scene before officers arrived. Mount Pleasant Police are still investigating.
