Man arrested for sexual assault that left 3-year-old with two STDs

BEAUMONT (KBMT) -- UPDATE: A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson has confirmed to 12news that Joshua Cole Williams was arrested around 2 p.m. in Port Arthur, TX.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man wanted for a sexual assault of a child that left a victim with two sexually transmitted diseases.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Rod Carroll told 12News that Joshua Cole Williams, 24, is believed to be responsible for an attack on the 3-year-old child of a family friend.

Williams is believed to be hiding with friends in the Beaumont or Mid-County area. Deputy Carroll said investigators do not believe that these friends realize that Mr. Williams is wanted or the circumstances of the crime that he is charged.
