MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Leap into March with parties and freebies thanks to an extra day. Feb. 29, also known as Leap Day, only comes around once every four years.

If your birthday falls on Leap Day, you can cash in on even more bargains.

Up-Down MKE is giving 160 tokens to anyone celebrating a birthday.

"It's four years' worth of birthday tokens," said Ronnie Gomez, Up-Down's general manager. Plus, the first 100 people to walk through the door will get 29 free tokens to play arcade games.

Krispy Kreme is giving out free birthday donuts. Plus, anyone who buys a dozen donuts can get a second dozen for $2.29.

Explorium Brewpub has a special menu item for the day -- frog legs. They pair well with Leaping Lemonades according to the owner, Mike Doble. Starting at 4 p.m. they'll have raffles, giveaways and fun to celebrate Leap Day.

Explorium is also offering crowns and a free meal for those celebrating a birthday.

"You shouldn't have to work today, because it's the extra day in the year," said Doble jokingly. "This is that weird year that has 366 days, so you know you can't expect to be at work today."

They'll have specials at both locations, Milwaukee's Third Ward and Southridge.

Insomnia Cookies is offering not one but FOUR cookies to Leap Day babies to make up for missed birthdays.

Wendys, Qdoba and other restaurants are offering similar promotions for Leap Day.
