Lawsuit to be filed against Milwaukee County over gay marriage licenses

MILWAUKEE -- A group of Milwaukee County residents are filing a lawsuit against Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and the county clerk for issuing same-sex marriage licenses.

The group of citizens plan to file the necessary paperwork and pay the lawsuit fee around 1:00 p.m. They plan to serve County Executive Abele in person at 1:30 p.m.

The group says they are in full support of counties who are not issuing same-sex marriage licenses like Racine County.

Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is filing a motion to have same-sex marriages halted until a federal appeals court makes a decision.
