UPDATE: LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lake Geneva Police say the 53-year-old man who drowned at Big Foot Beach in Lake Geneva as Santos Gonzalez. 

Police say Gonzalez's death is still under investigation. They say they are awaiting toxicology results and will be reviewing his medical records.

UPDATE: LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lake Geneva Police have identified the person who drowned as a 53-year-old man from Lake Geneva. His identity will not be released until Friday.

Witnesses reported seeing the man swimming off Big Foot Beach in Lake Geneva around 1 p.m. when he began to struggle and call out.

Before rescuers could get to the man, he disappeared under the water. His body was discovered 45 minutes later in eight feet of water, roughly 110 feet from the shore.

Rescue divers from Lynn, Williams Bay, Elkhorn, Fontana, and Darien assisted the Lake Geneva Police.

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A body was recovered from the area of Bigfoot Beach on Thursday afternoon.

The Lieutenant from the Lake Geneva Police Department confirms that the body of an adult man was recovered.

The identity of the victim remains unknown at this time. Police say they believe it is a male victim between the ages of 45 and 55-years-old.
