Kenosha Principal and PE Teacher to Sleep on Roof for Fundraiser

A Kenosha Principal at Nash Elementary School, Martin Pitts, and physical education teacher David Dummer will be sleeping on the roof of Nash to reward their students for raising $14,000 during their annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

Jump Rope for Heart raises money and awareness for the American Heart Association while teaching children how to be fit and healthy. This is the third year Nash students have participated in the event.

This year, Pitts and Dummer promised students they would sleep on the roof if they met their goal of $17,000, which is what they raised last year. The students came in short of that goal, but still raised $14,000, which Pitts and Drummer felt was still worth a big reward.

The principal and teacher will head up to their tent on the Nash roof around 7 PM Thursday night and plan to greet students as they arrive around 7:45 AM Friday.
