Milwaukee’s Museum of Beer and Brewing is now open
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The community is mourning the death of a beloved Milwaukee DJ.
According to close friends, 34-year-old Terrance Townsell passed away last week from a seizure due to medical complications.
"This is really what they call a hard pill to swallow, because of who he was and the energy that he possessed," said Cynthia Jordan, aunt of Townsell.
Townsell was a DJ at Infinity Lounge on Milwaukee's north side for the past three years.
The father of three was best known for keeping the music going and the crowd on their feet.
"When Tat walked in, everybody knew the party was finna get started," said Mario Spencer, owner of Infinity Lounge.
Spencer went on to say Townsell was just at the beginning of his DJ career.
"He stayed on the road to Ohio, Indianapolis, Texas, you know, he's been a lot of places, he's been going a lot, it was just starting to take off," said Spencer.
And while Townsell is no longer behind the DJ booth, those close to him say he's left a lasting impact.
"He's the voice of Milwaukee. If Tat was there, that's all you needed to hear - Tat was coming," said Spencer.
"A behavior for other people to model behind, that’s what I'm praying what will happen. But it will be probably months, years, from now before they'll stop talking with his name and publicizing with his music," said Jordan.
The funeral service for Townsell is set to be held at Greater Bethlehem Temple World Ministries on Thursday, March 21 at 12 p.m.
