Governor Walker says he won't authorize removing "America's Dairyland" from license plates

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 has confirmed that Governor Walker won't authorize removing "America's Dairyland" from the state's license plates. Walker said that agriculture and manufacturing are the bread and butter of Wisconsin's economy.

In October the head of the state chamber of commerce says it might be time to do away with the slogan and replace it with something more modern like "Forward" which is the state's official motto.

"America's Dairyland" has been on license plates since 1940. A nonprofit group supporting Wisconsin's dairy industry objected to the switch.
