Garden District Farmers' Market hosts "Choose to Re-Use" events

The Garden District Farmers’ Market will host a series of “Choose to Re-Use” recycling and exchange events throughout the summer, Alderman Terry L. Witkowski said.
The first such event is scheduled for 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, with a focus on gently-used sports equipment. Neighbors are invited to donate any unused sports equipment they may have, or peruse the donations and take home any piece of equipment for which they might have a use. Leftover donations at the end of the afternoon will be donated to charity.
Garden District Farmers’ Markets occurs every Saturday through August 29.
Other themes will include “Clean Out the Closet,” document shredding, garden equipment, household goods, holiday decorations and books.
