Gambling addiction activist wants federal action on March Madness betting

MADISON -- A Madison area man is going after illegal March Madness pools that bring in an estimated six billions dollars a year.

Robert McGuigan's son Jason was killed in his Wisconsin home in 2006, because he didn't place a bet for a man who thought he won $17,000. McGuigan has made it his mission to educate other on gambling addiction.

McGuigan has now turned his focus towards President Obama, who also filled out a March Madness bracket. \"I'd like to see him do something in regards to the internet gambling and make that completely illegal,\" said McGuigan.

The Wisconsin Council on Problem Gaming recently honored McGuigan with their Leadership Award for his work.
