DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Delafield widow is turning tragedy into hope.
Brian Yagoda was riding his bike in Waukesha when he was hit and killed.
His family is still in mourning, but they're also channeling their feelings into making sure no one else gets hurt while riding.
On Sunday, a fundraiser was held to help pave shoulders on the road where Brian was killed. Brian's widow shared why she was determined to hold the event in her late husband's memory.
"All my husband wanted to do was ride his bike and this happened to him, so I didn't want it to happen to anyone else. That's why, I guess I could've waited, but I'm a doer. I don't wait. I just get things done," said Shirley Yagoda.
Shirley says she hopes to hold another fundraiser next year.
This is also a GoFundMe to pave the shoulders on Golf Road in Delafield.
