Early morning fire damages Milwaukee home
The Milwaukee Fire Department was on the scene of a fire for about an hour early Monday morning at a duplex near 37th and Rogers. The fire was reported 1:45 a.m. in the second floor of a two story dwelling. The six residents of the duplex were able to evacuate without injury before the firefighters arrived. The Red Cross reports it is assisting two families displaced by the fire. According to fire officials, there was extensive damage to the building. The damage is estimated roughly at $150,000. The cause of the fire is being investigation but it does not appear to be suspicious.
