Driver killed after car strikes tree, bursts into flames

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead following a crash in the Town of Dane.

It happened on Black Hill Road, just east of Lodi-Springfield Road just before 10 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a 2013 Fiat 500 was traveling westbound when the driver lost control and struck a tree.

The car burst into flames and quickly became fully engulfed.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Deputies believe speed was a factor in the crash.
