Driver arrested after OWI crash in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a two-vehicle rollover crash on Sunday, April 28.

It happened around 5:18 p.m. near 1st and Meachem. 

Police say the investigation determined a Pontiac was traveling over 100mph on Meachem, passing vehicles to the right. The Pontiac rear ended a Nissan Maxima going in the same direction. The impact caused both vehicles to roll over. 

It was determined that the driver of the Pontiac was impaired and arrested for OWI causing injury, as well as 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, reckless driving, and two counts of bail jumping. 

The 28-year-old man was transported to the Racine County Jail. The driver of the Nissan was transported to a hospital for minor injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
