DPW snow removal operation NOT called for Thursday night

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee has not called a snow removal operation for Thursday night, February 8. This means that normal winter parking regulations are in effect, but alternate side parking is not in effect.

119 salt trucks with plow blades will treat main roads once the snow starts to fall Thursday night and into the morning commute. 120 garbage trucks have plow blades and will be deployed on side streets.

DPW employees will work in 12 hour shifts to cover the 7,000 miles of lanes in Milwaukee.

In addition, garbage and recycling collections for Friday have been suspended since the trucks will be working to clear the side streets.

Residents who normally get their trash and/or recycling picked up on Fridays should put out their bins on Mondays and leave them until they are emptied.
