Dekker declares for NBA Draft

Just days after the Badgers' loss in the NCAA Championship Game, Sam Dekker has announced that he will bypass his senior season and declare himself eligible for the NBA draft.

Dekker said in a statement released Friday: “These past three years have been the best, most memorable years of my life. Growing up in the state and being able to wear Wisconsin across my chest has been a dream come true.\"

Dekker scored 1,363 points in three seasons with the Badgers. The Sheboygan native was named West Regional Most Outstanding Player after setting career highs in points in both regional matchups (against North Carolina and Arizona).

Also Friday, Dekker's former teammate Frank Kaminsky picked up the Wooden Award to complete the sweep of player of the year awards. Kaminsky had already been honored by the AP and received the Naismith and Oscar Robertson Award honors.
