MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is bustling with activities in addition to Independence Day celebrations. Joe Krauss from B93.3 FM joined us to discuss what to expect.

The Milwaukee Milkmen will host an Adventure Weekend, with events including Friday Night Fireworks set to Pop 2K music. Additionally, on Saturday, attendees can partake in Superheroes Night, which will include a pregame parade, costume contest and superhero games between innings. The Adventure Game is slated for Sunday, featuring a contest where participants can compete for a 2-carat diamond and witness the Running of the Inflatable Dinos.

Military and Veterans Family Day at the Zoo is another event scheduled for Sunday. From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., military service members, veterans and their immediate family members can avail of free admission. Tickets are available exclusively through local County Veterans Service Offices for immediate family members, with a limit of ten tickets per family.

Summerfest is hosting "Make a Child Smile" Day on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Those who donate new or gently used children’s books with a $10 minimum value will receive free admission. The first 2,500 donors will be eligible for this offer. Picture books and early readers for children ages 0-10 are preferred, and all donations collected at the Mid Gate Promotions Booth will benefit Next Door.
