MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summertime in Milwaukee means there is always a lot to do, and not just mere excuses to get outside -- we are talking about some major events that help define what it means to live in the area. This upcoming weekend is no exception.
Joe Krauss of B93.3 FM joined us on Friday, July 21 to discuss some notable events taking place in the area.
The Red Arrow Park’s “Slice of Ice” rink transforms into a roller-skating hub for the Summer Spinz Family Skate Hour on Friday, set from 5 to 9 p.m. The event, themed "Barbie Night," marks the premiere of Barbie the Movie with free admission and numerous on-site activities, including a movie ticket drawing.
The Waukesha County Fair, the oldest county fair in Wisconsin, is also ongoing from July 19 to 23. Attendees can expect savings on admission tickets purchased online and can consider family bundles for additional perks.
On Saturday, July 22, the 5th Annual Riverwest Food Truck Rally takes over from 4 to 8 p.m. Ten food trucks and beer from the Riverwest Brewery Syndicate will be available, with free entry.
In the same vein, on July 22 from noon to 2 p.m., The Little Mermen, a renowned Disney tribute band, will perform at The Yard at Bayshore in Glendale. The event, with free admission, features songs from the Disney canon and forbids carry-in alcohol and animals.
