Brown Bottle Restaurant is back

A touch of old world Milwaukee is back.

The Brown Bottle Restaurant reopened Monday at Schlitz Park.

It's the site of one of the city's renowned breweries.

The restaurant first opened in 1938 as a meeting place for visitors after brewery tours.

It's been closed since 2004. Until now. The new general manager says the reopening means a lot to a lot of people.

\"My mother and her friends they used to come here back in the sixties and seventies,\" Tony Keller explained. \"To just all the people that used to work here, they've kind of built all this up. It just means a lot to have the tradition continue.\"

The Brown Bottle is offering a lunch and appetizer menu for now.

It will expand to a dinner menu in December.
