Brookfield police issue warning after five vehicles were reported stolen

The City of Brookfield Police Department issued a warning after five vehicles were reported stolen from driveways and open garages in the past month.

The City of Brookfield Police Department is asking all citizens to park their vehicles in their locked garages at night if at all possible. If vehicles need to be left outside, police ask that owners lock their cars in their driveways.

Police warn to not leave any keys in vehicles and that residents leave exterior lights on during hours of darkness.

The vehicle thefts appear to be occurring after midnight and before 5:30 a.m.

Surrounding agencies are experiencing similar thefts.

If you have any information about the thefts or see any suspicious activity, you're asked to call the police at 262-787-3700.
