MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Brewers have shared some upgrades fans will see at American Family Field this baseball season.

"It's part of the overall goal to make the in-game experience top-notch," President of Operations for the Milwaukee Brewers Rick Schlesinger said.

On Monday, March 25, Schlesinger and his team unveiled two new scoreboards, one over center field and one over right field. The center field scoreboard is just under 12,000 sq feet, and is among the largest in Major League Baseball, according to the Brewers.

"Not only is the board larger, but the experience and the visual experience will be visually impactful and allow us to do a lot of creative things," Schlesinger explained.

"What we're trying to do is make the experience great for every kind of fan that comes here. Fans love video. Love crowd prompts. Certain fans like statistics, and highlights, and we'll be able to accommodate all of that."

The scoreboard over the right field is almost 3,000 square feet and will be used to provide extra information during games.

"The second board can be used for supplemental content. Whether that's video, more stats, highlights, different kinds of things," Schlesinger said.

These two scoreboards are not the only thing that is bigger for the Brewers this season. After two years, the official Brewers Team Store is now expanded, with more space and a custom corner where fans can use a touch screen to create custom memorabilia.

"We decided to do this because we noticed how difficult it was to line queue and to have a comfortable shopping experience during games," Senior Director of Retail Merchandise Shaun Marefka said. "We wanted to try to have that same experience that they have in other stores, bring that here to the stadium when they're here shopping with 40, 50 thousand fans in the building."

The Brewers begin the season Thursday, March 28 in New York against the Mets, and the home opener is Tuesday, April 2, against the Minnesota Twins.
