WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Bend is home to the Best Burger in Wisconsin -- that's according to the Wisconsin Beef Council's Best Burger Contest for 2025.
Brazenhead Pub in West Bend was announced as the winner of this year's contest with their signature Brazenhead Beer Cheese Burger -- a half pound of angus beef topped with cheddar, bacon, onion rings, and Harp beer cheese on a pretzel bun.
This is the second year of the contest by the beef council, and Brazenhead won among 6,000 nominees.
"Everything's fresh," said John Fellenz, Brazenhead Pub owner. "The grill that we use has done thousands and thousands of burgers, and our cooks are absolutely amazing, they do everything really really well, put their hearts into it, so I think that's what separates us."
The contest starts with a 30-day nomination period, then the top eight most nominated restaurants are visited by three secret judges.
They made the decision based on tase, appearance and overall enjoyment.
