MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A bittersweet goodbye to summer high school baseball tonight.
Muskego won the last summer league championship on Friday before every team is moved to the spring season next year.
Before the game, every summer champion dating back to 1965 was honored.
Several coaches and parents aren't happy about the change. They say in the Midwest, baseball should be played in June and July, not March and April.
"There's just something fundamentally wrong when you're standing in the third-base coaches box with a parka on and hand warmers in your pocket," said Dick Sykes, St. Francis High School Coach.
Coaches say part of the reason for the move to spring is so players can travel with other teams during the summer.
