Bill Would Require Students to Pass Citizenship Test to Graduate

How well do you know American history? Could you pass a 100 questions civics test?

A Wisconsin lawmaker wants students to pass the same test given to those wanting to become U.S. citizens in order to graduate.

The test would consist of 100 civics and American history questions. They'd have to get 60 answers correct, according to Rep. James Edming who authored the bill. He also said the test is multiple choice.

The citizenship test is handled differently. It's an oral test where the person only has to answer 6 out of 10 answers correctly.

Others brought up the point that the bill doesn't specify how students with special needs would take it.

The author of the bill said he is open to making amendments. There has not been a vote on the bill yet.
