Badgers late run salvages win at home

Trailing Illinois by 13 in the second half, the Badgers found their backs - and possibly their NCAA tournament chances - against the wall. But Wisconsin rallied in impressive fashion, rattling off 17 unanswered points in a 69-60 win at Kohl Center Sunday afternoon.

A cold-shooting first half had the Badgers on the short end of the scoreboard, and Illinois extended the lead when Malcolm Hill scored with a little more than twelve minutes remaining in the game. Nigel Hayes then sparked a 17-0 run with a couple of key buckets, finally finding his shot after an ice-cold first half. Bronson Koenig hit a three to tie the game, and Hayes hit again moments later to put UW ahead for good.

The win is Wisconsin's 17th overall, 9th in Big Ten play. The Badgers still face Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Purdue to close out their regular season.
