Attorney General Kaul addresses social media safety for students

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- State Attorney General Josh Kaul spoke about a new program aimed at educating students about the dangers of social media Monday.

Kaul spoke at Waukesha County Technical College.

"Our office of school safety has put out a threat assessment protocol that aims to help educators around the state know that when they see a situation that arises, they see a distinction between whether it's a teen acting out and somebody who's a real threat," he said.

Students in the course learned about how their date is collected, good guidelines for what to post or not, and healthier habits online.

The training heads to the Fox Cities on Tuesday.
