Attempted Armed Robbery Occurs on Oakland Avenue

An attempted armed robbery took place on Oakland Avenue Wednesday around 1:45 a.m. near University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.

According to UWM Police, the incident happened on the 3400 block of Oakland Avenue.

Two suspects approached a victim and demanded with a handgun his property.

The victim slapped at the weapon and was able to run from the scene.

The suspects then entered into a silver automobile and fled northbound on Oakland Ave.  The victim reported hearing one gunshot but there were no reported injuries.

The first suspect is described as black man. The victim believes he was in his 20s, and approximately 6-feet tall. He had a large build, and was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, armed with a silver handgun

Second suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s. He is approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall.

He was wearing a black sweat shirt and blue jeans.
