The breakdown is another ridge of high pressure building to our east will broaden and encompass a chunk of the country. This will give the region an opportunity to punch back into the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. The problem with this setup is the lake could influence our weather more and keep a southeast wind in the picture. Highs are still expected to jump well above normal until Friday.

Storm activity is possible for Independence Day, and could be more widespread by Thursday. If this does happen, it could keep the temperatures down a bit.
