Aaron Rodgers talks contract, Family Night at Lambeau

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A big thought on the minds of Packers' fans, when will Aaron Rodgers get a new contract?

The Packers QB is currently negotiating a new contract with the team.

On Friday, Aaron Rodgers said he doesn't have anything to report on his contract negotiations with the team. There were reports earlier this week that the team was getting closer to a deal with the quarterback.

Rodgers did talk for about 10 minutes about how camp is going. He was excited to get his tackle, Bryan Bulaga back from an ACL tear. Bulaga had missed about nine months.

Rodgers also said he's excited for the sold-out Family Day on Saturday.

He says practicing in front of 5,000 people at camp is fun but there's a different feeling getting out onto Lambeau Field, especially for the rookies.

"When you walk into Lambeau as a first-year player, it's a different mentality. Now mine, we scrimmaged Buffalo and it wasn't the same type of deal as we're going to do tomorrow as long as the weather holds up. Because you know, it always rains on Family Night. But it's good to have those nerves come up for the young guys.

Gate at Lambeau for Family Night open at 5:30 p.m.on Saturday. Practice gets underway two hours later. The night ends with a fireworks and laser show.

The Packers open up the preseason on Thursday against the Titans.
