GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Germantown vllage officials are hoping they finally have the position of village clerk filled for a while.
The previous village clerk left the position back in August and the search for a replacement has been a little difficult.
Right now, there are no deputy clerks to do the job and one person who initially accepted the job backed out shortly after that.
The good news, according to Village Administrator Steve Kreklow, is that a candidate has accepted the village's offer and she's scheduled to start on December 8th.
"It's been a challenge with the turnover, you know it's not an ideal situation, but everybody around Village Hall has kinda pitched in to make sure that everything gets done and that citizens are getting the services that they need and we've got some good people coming in and I feel confident that we have things covered," Kreklow said.
The village clerk position in Germantown pays anywhere from $60,000 to $70,000 a year.
