12-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Struck While Riding His Dirt Bike

DODGE COUNTY - A traffic crash involving a pickup truck and a motorized dirt bike leaves a 12-year-old boy dead. The crash happened around 4 p.m. this afternoon on County Highway NN near N. Tyler Road in the Township of Rubicon.
The pickup truck was westbound on County Highway NN. The operator, a 34-year-old Neosho male, crashed into the 12-year-old who was crossing the roadway on his dirt bike. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup did not report any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation. Identities of those involved will be released at a later date.
