UPDATE: Missing Boys Found Safe

UPDATE: At 9:30 PM police say the boys and mother were found safe at 37th and Brown. Police thank the community for sharing the message.


An amber alert has been issued for 8-year-old Austyn Bennet and 4-year-old Dylan Lawrence.

Austyn is wearing a dark colored t-shirt, light colored shorts and green tennis shoes.  He is a black male, four feet tall, 60 pounds with a short haircut.

Dylan is wearing a red long sleeve shirt, khaki shorts and a large dark colored backpack. He is a black male, two feet, six inches tall, 45 pounds with a short haircut.

Police confirm the boys were last seen at 1706 W Highland Ave. which is the location of Highland Community School.

The suspect is identified as the mother of the children who no longer has parental rights. Nellie Wald, a 28-year-old black female. Wald is described as 5'6" tall 140 pounds with a slender build, long dark wavy hair with purple highlights on the front. Wald was last seen wearing a pair of khaki pants and floral top style shirt. She has a couple of tatoos, "Carma" on her right arm, and "Trinity" on one of her shoulders. Police believe she may be armed with a handgun.

Wald is suspected of driving a 2013 silver Ford Fusion. Police have recovered the vehicle, but Wald and the boys were not located.

Police believe Wald may be driving to Florida.
