(RACINE) - Police officers and other first responders put their lives on the line to serve and protect their community, and they do so without asking for anything in return.

Next week, the community is invited to a benefit for a Racine police officer.  On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Pauleen Le introduces Officer Lina Edwardson and the support squad there for her as she faces her biggest challenge yet.

The benefit will be held on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Fountain Banquet Hall at 8505 Durand Ave. in Sturtevant.
